Coastal tourism, market segmentation and contested landscapes

A new research paper has been published in Marine Policy, authored by MSSRG members Maria Pafi, Dr. Wesley Flannery and Prof. Brendan Murtagh. The paper argues that coastal tourism is an accessible form of Blue Growth for local communities, but outlines how there is a need to understand the complexity of tourist experiences from a community perspective and how they may be affected by Blue Growth that industrialises the coast.
